LEAD ERA is aimed at fostering the coordination of a series of trans-regional programmes dedicated to research and innovation within the highly innovative and technology based themes of the EU Lead market initiative. Through a process of intensive knowledge sharing of the regional competences and programmes, LEAD ERA partners will develop a joint Scientific and Technological strategy and the mutual tools and methods to foster RTD cooperation amongst their regional RTD stakeholders. The main objectives of the project are to launch ambitious RTD calls for proposals and therefore to fund trans-national projects involving RTD actors from the private or the public sector which will provide them new resources to collaborate at a European level. |

European Steel Technology Platform brings together the whole European steel industry, research centres, universities, the European Commission and Member States, as well as the other European institutions and trade unions. - It expresses the major ambition of the steel industry, looking forward to 2030: the consolidation of undisputed leadership in sustainable development, given the rapid development in other parts of the world, notably Asia.
- It represents a response to the challenges that lie before us: the growing impact of globalisation, the matching of steel supply and demand, the climate change issue and the strengthening of the EU-27 partnerships.
- The Steel Technology Platform is geared to the future. Building on the foundation established by the first European research network created by the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), the Steel Technology Platform will give new impetus to the full spectrum of European research into materials and processes.
