The Department of Economy, Tourism and Technology (WST3) of the Government of Lower Austria is, among others, responsible for the regional economic and innovation policy, including company funding, as for example innovation culture and financing, R&D and Technology Transfer, Creation of innovation oriented start-up companies, as well as improvement of the relation between research and economy.
WST3 is moreover administrating the shares of the government in companies of the "Land", which do service promotion of economy, as well as in eco-plus, the Lower Austrian economic agency, and is also office for technology responsible via this for the steering and financing of regional economy and innovation intermediaries, as for example the Technopoles, Incubators, Technology and Innovation Partners as mentors of innovation oriented SMEs, etc.
